Ha publicado los poemarios Nada m\u00e1s que silencio (San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica, 2000); Respiraci\u00f3n de piedras (San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica, 2016), ganador del Concurso de Poes\u00eda 2015 de la Editorial de la Universidad de Costa Rica; y Pez de fieltro (Colecci\u00f3n Playa Sucia, Puerto Rico, 2023). Su poes\u00eda tambi\u00e9n aparece en The Wandering Song: Central American Writing in the United States (T\u00eda Chucha Press, 2017) y en revistas como barzakh y Rio Grande Review. Es co-traductor de la obra de la poeta costarricense Eunice Odio, cuyas publicaciones incluyen la antolog\u00eda biling\u00fce Territory of Dawn: The Selected Poems of Eunice Odio (Bitter Oleander Press, 2016) y The Fire\u2019s Journey (Tavern Books, 2013-19).<\/p>\n<p>He is a poet, translator, and researcher. He is assistant professor of Spanish and Latin American Literature at the University of Cincinnati. He holds a Ph.D. in Latin American Literatures and Cultures from The Ohio State University. He has published the poetry books Nada m\u00e1s que silencio (San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica, 2000); Respiraci\u00f3n de piedras (San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica, 2016), which won the 2015 University of Costa Rica Press Poetry Prize; and Pez de fieltro (Colecci\u00f3n Playa Sucia, Puerto Rico, 2023). His poetry also appears in The Wandering Song: Central American Writing in the United States (T\u00eda Chucha Press, 2017) and in journals such as barzakh and Rio Grande Review. As part of this phenomenon, there is a Spanish-language literary boom taking place; and not only in cities with a large and historic presence of Spanish speakers such as Miami, New York or Los Angeles. In Midwestern states like Ohio, recent migration waves have also generated new cultural landscapes. This bilingual anthology (the first of its kind) is a living testimony of this transformation. Here we compile the poetic work of 16 authors who write in Spanish in Ohio, with roots in 11 countries and representing different generations and styles.
