Tradujo los libros Cosmopolita (Ediciones Liliputienses, C\u00e1ceres, 2014) y Ciudad modelo (Ediciones Liliputienses, C\u00e1ceres, 2018), de Donna Stonecipher, la antolog\u00eda Yo sol\u00eda decir su nombre, de Carl Phillips (Editorial Aparte, Arica, 2022) y de M\u00f3nica de La Torre compil\u00f3 y tradujo Feliz a\u00f1o nuevo (Ediciones Luces de G\u00e1libo, M\u00e1laga, 2017). Junto a esta \u00faltima, public\u00f3 la antolog\u00eda Malditos latinos, malditos sudacas. Poes\u00eda hispanoamericana made in USA (Ediciones El Billar de Lucrecia, D.F., 2009). Es tambi\u00e9n autor de La poes\u00eda al poder. De Casa de Las Am\u00e9ricas a McNally Jackson (Editorial Cuarto Propio, Santiago, 2018). Fue miembro del International Writing Program, de la Universidad de Iowa, y Writer in Residence en el Banff Center for the Arts, en Alberta, Canada. Es Associate Editor de Cardboard House Press y profesor de literatura latinoamericana en Case Western Reserve University, en Cleveland, EE.UU., donde tambi\u00e9n reside. In Burning of the Reichstag, Cristi\u00e1n G\u00f3mez Olivares delves into the meanders of time and memory, with a poetic voice that challenges History ‘s linearity. This bilingual book, translated into English by Ariel Francisco, is a lyrical journey that intertwines the political with the personal, the universal with the particular. Cristi\u00e1n G\u00f3mez’s poems recreate desolate landscapes, moments of resistance and the epic of disenchantment. Using images that recall fragility and strength at the same time, the author examines the remains of the past, while searching for meaning in modernity’s ruins. This work is more than the reflection of History, it is a meditation on the power of words to consume like fire and rebuild as well. Burning of the Reichstag is a poetic testimony of the XX century, but also an urgent question on the time we live.
